its a myth!! Linux on "new world" Mac PPC

I have made numerous attemps to get my old mac running mandrake. After unending failure, I have came to the conclusion. Mandrake PPC does Not Support what the harware they clame to. My problem appears to be the Boot Rom. I get the "booting mandrake linux" at the top of the screen, but I also get a flashing mac smilely, as if the machine were still trying to start up from the mac os. This was still present after zeroing the hard drive. I had no success using the open firmware commands to get the machine to boot from a specific hardware. My machine is a rev 1 Powermac G3, a.k.a. Yosemite (B+W). I even tried to take my HD to a Quicksilver G4 and try installing there. I got the unsupported display error, as mentioned in the above article. The closest i got to getting mandrake on my mac, was what ended up to be nothing more than a kernal panic. If anyone is out there that has installed linux on thier "new world" mac, this is my cry for help. wimper! sniff. sniff.

...i can't find any central forum or support site for mandrake 10.1
Isn't http://forum.mandrakeclub.com/ enough?
And I won't bother commenting on the rest, they are quite typical not of an end user, but rather the end of a user...

I have had the EXACT same problem as the above user, and am hoping someone can help me boot mandrake! I have unsuccessfully tried Ubuntu, gentoo and mandrake finally worked, or so i thought..... Machine is an iMac DV SE 500 mhz G3, and i have my drive partitioned such that mandrake occupies the second half, "free space" and os x the first. I can get yaboot to launch, but no matter which of the options I choose, l for linux, m for mac os etc. none work. only openfirmware works. Anyone with any idea of how to solve this? Thanks in advance.

My installation completed, everything went well except Konqueror or File Manager cannot be used as normal user. But can be used when you call from su command.
I don't know some review has this effect or not?.
Mandrake should release KDE 3 for public down load instead of showing list as disk 4 KDE3 for download version.
My dear Mandrake user who have no money enough to be member.
