Runs fine on an 8600 w 604e @200mhz, 256mb ram.
Set up A/UX home and swap paritions using apple's drive setup
Used bootX with vmlinux-2.6.8-1.ydl.7 and ramdisk.image.gz, you have to increase the ramdisk from default of 8912 to something large like 32000
After install anaconda crashes with 'no osx attribute', restart into macos, run bootX and set boot patition to your linux boot disk like hda0 or sba6 and SAVE preferences.
System comes up in text console. Login as root, change to /etc and edit inittab using vi to change runlevel from 3 to 5. Reboot.
You now get XDM graphical login screen.
Performance is quite good considering the age of the machine. I tried installing on a Beige G3 w 768mb ram using same method but installer crashes during XFree setup...possibly the ATI card? Tried switching between terminals but unable to restart the install. Anyone who has this working on Beige G3 write me at gnickers@uwo.ca
